Webinar: How portfolio careers work

The idea of combining several roles into a "portfolio" career is an attractive one for many people especially for those who need flexibility. Creating a sustainable portfolio of work can be extremely challenging.

This panel webinar featuring Patrick J McGinnis, Larissa Baeuml and Katja Berlinger examines the reality of portfolio work and looks especially at how would-be portfolio workers can generate opportunities and allocate their time most effectively.

In this webinar we will examine the different approaches our panellists have followed to create, maintain and enrich portfolio careers in areas as diverse as board/NED roles, entrepreneurship and online gaming.

We will explore:

  • Why traditional job-hunting techniques (and almost all networking) won’t help
  • Why a “strange CV” combined with a distinctive skill can be ideal
  • What resources you need to start and how long you may have to wait to “break even”.
  • How to “upgrade” clients and projects over time to focus on work that is the most rewarding and fulfilling.
  • Five models of entrepreneurship that you can fit into a portfolio

Everyone who registers will get the chance to ask our panel questions live, plus a video recording of the session and access to a bonus materials resource pack.A private LinkedIn group for potential portfolio workers has been created and is linked to this webinar. All attendees will be invited to join the group and discuss issues around this subject before and after the webinar.
