Livestream with Thomas Roulet, GE 09

Tune in for a livestream on Friday 7 October at 13:45 (French time)

Thomas Roulet (GE 09), Associate Professor in Organisation Theory & Deputy Director of the MBA at the University of Cambridge, will be talking live talk about company reputations, bad companies to work for and the power of being divisive.

There's no doubt that some companies or industries have terrible reputations. Depending on your political persuasion, you can think of tobacco, fossil fuels, arms manufacturers as vilified industries.

But does that mean you should avoid working for them? Thomas Roulet looks at why people work for companies with bad reputations and whether it is worth it. Thomas teaches at Cambridge and has written a book on the Power of Being Divisive. He has also looked at whether we can learn why people feel a closer affiliation to vilified causes such as the MAGA movement the more it is criticised?
