Webinar: Herminia Ibarra on changing career at 30, 40 and 50+
How to Change Career at 30, 40 and 50+
Many of us are re-evaluating our careers because of the current crisis: some are considering a wholly new direction.
But what kind of career change is realistic in a downturn? How long does it take? And how confident can we be of success at the end?
In this webinar, Professor Herminia Ibarra will share her ground-breaking research into how successful career change happens, and how the process of change differs at different stages of your life.
We will examine:
- Why you cannot plan your way to career change
- Why you should expect a miserable middle during transition
- Why family and friends may not be able to help you as much as you think (and why loose contacts may help more)
- How long career change normally takes
We will also look at some of the research-based techniques that can help you accelerate your transition:
- The critical role of experimentation
- Why side projects are so valuable and which ones work best
- How you can manage risk and track progress with regular reflection
This live webinar is from 13:00 to 14:00 (Paris time) on Wednesday 9 December. We have free tickets for member alumni and students here:
