Launching the alumni community in Shenzhen

21st March will be a significant date in the Shenzhen diary. It is the day when Shenzhen Audencia Business School (SABS) will hold a school banquet in honour of the different communities of students and alumni currently in Shenzhen. From Executive MBAs on a learning expedition from France to Executive MBAs studying in Shenzhen, from Grande Ecole students on academic exchanges to alumni from all programmes living and working in in the city, these different groups all have a strong connection to Audencia.

A testimony to life choices

While some of the guests at the SABS banquet may never come to Nantes, others such as Laurence Xu Xiaolan (EIBM 2014) feel a special attachment to the city and feels that the time she spent at Audencia has shaped the person she has become: it “changed my career and my life“, she says.
Laurence is a guest speaker at tomorrow’s SABS banquet. She is both proud and delighted to share her story since graduating four years ago. “I met some very excellent people during my programme, their serious working attitude and self-discipline influenced me a lot.” She currently works as a consultant with EY and acknowledges that the EIBM course, taught in three languages in three European cities, gave her the edge when it came to being recruited. “What I learnt from EIBM is not only the knowledge of business management, the languages, but also the self-awareness, confidence, social skills and the serious attitude towards study and work. The period I stayed in Europe let me know more about myself, about whom I really want to be. It was new for me to speak out my real thoughts and it feels good to make plans to achieve my dreams, it makes me feel valuable.”

An ambassador for the Shenzhen alumni community

The Shenzhen alumni community is now live on the alumni platform Together. Future alumna Sun Qing (IMM 2018) will be its ambassador and has been working with Audencia Alumni to launch the community in time for tomorrow’s banquet. She is looking forward to mobilising alumni in Shenzhen around a simple action plan. “I'm so happy that I can do some contribution to our school.” She says and feels sure that “we can create more activities for our alumni and for our school to promote our reputation and to enhance connection.”
Audencia Alumni is pleased to welcome Qing and her ideas to the community!
